Our wedding went fairly smoothly but when our daughter was married, we were all in place waiting for Jenny to arrive when I suddenly thought that I hadn't given her her flowers before I left the house. Went outside to see her arriving (without flowers) with her dad, the photographer agreed to spin out the photos while I got a neighbour to go back to the house to collect Jenny's flowers.
The irony is that Jenny didn't want a bouquet at all, which is why she didn't miss it, she had decided that since she was to be married in Glasgow and not at home she wanted to carry herbs and lavender from the garden of one of our neighbours here. I picked and took the lavender up with me and we added a few white rose buds and loads of tartan ribbon to match the men's kilts. It was so unusual and looked lovely, with the positive comments she received about her bouquet I was so relieved that I remembered in time.
