Hi all - I am Dawn Knight and I am 48, happily married to David with two children aged 14 (going on 26) and 10. I have been making cards for a couple of years now, although I used to make them on the computer before I got into crafting them. I got started on that when we moved from Lincolnshire to Yorkshire and I discovered a craft shop next door to my son's school. It is a massive shop and a real Aladdin's cave for crafters, I started out in a small way just with peel offs etc.,but as I saw more demos by the owner things just greeeeeeewwwww. I also like one stroke painting although it is so long since I did it regularly that I am getting a bit rusty. My daughter has got into cardmaking and has a real eye for what works well. She is a true ebeneezer - for her Christmas cards this year she has done about 5 versions of the same sort of card because she has used the scrap from one sort to make another and then the scrap from that to do another and so on, she has not thrown ANYTHING away. Well trained you see. I started out posting on Docrafts and because everyone was wanting to see what the others look like I set up a website where they could post their photos and a few details about themselves. No that Docrafts have revamped their site I will have to think about what to do with it as pics can now be posted on DC. Although I originally trained as a nurse I am now a full time mother, but I am a parent mentor at our high school and have discovered that children who are reluctant to talk will do so if they are occupied with something else so have started to take some cardmaking things in with me and it has proved quite a hit.
