As usual I've put the cart before the horse. I've been posting here for a couple of weeks now and I introduced myself on the general discussion board, I think, but having seen this thread thought I should keep things nice and tidy and post my profile here. So...
My name is Alice. I'm 61 and married to Derek. We have no children. We live in an apartment overlooking Belfast Lough in Co. Down. We decided to buy the apartment 1. because we like to travel and wouldn't have any gardens to manage. ( in our previous home Derek was very fussy about his gardens)and 2. as our retirement home. We've lived here for some 10 years now although we only took early retirement in 2002. I've always been interested in crafts; my Mum taught me to knit as a young girl and the dressmake. I've done crochet, embroidery, tapestry, rug-making. Then I became interested in card making. I feel as if I've been doing all my life but it was only in 2004 that I tried to make my own Christmas cards. Then in 2005 I really got the bug and found C&C on Sky and as they say the rest is history. I'm really interested in decoupage but like Cardaddict I've a rubber stamp fettish. When I see a nice one I just have to have it, but then it lies in my box because I'm too busy to think what to do with it; have a boxful of new stamps not yet used. I tape all the interesting programmes on C&C for inspiration and now have loads of them but forget I have them and so rarely use them.
( I think it's because I can't be bothered setting up the DVD player in my den). Derek treated me to a new built in study because He was disgusted with mass of crafty stuff lying about. It was nice and clear for a while then the boxes started to accumulate again. Cest la Vie.
That's enough about me.
