Must confess I have been using ancestry since 2001, keep thinking I shan't find anything more and then they put something new on - have been glued to it for past couple of days finding so much on the London rellies. Even found children that were born and died between censuses and never knew they existed!

OH buys my subscription as part of my Xmas pressie each year. I only have the uk subscription - £84 does seem a lot - it was about £65 when I first started, but if you look at as £7 a month - not many hobbies you can do for that much - certainly not crafting - lol!

I do find it the best site, and it is very easy to make a correction if you have found an error. I also have my tree on there, and I am currently linking images of marriage certificates I have found to my tree, which the rest of the family also have access to - so they can see any new stuff I have found.

Have tried other sites but not found any quite so good. - a tip is to use "old search" much more friendly to use. If anybody wants help starting off and seeing past the errors on the transcripts - please feel free to contact me.

Ancestry also have all births and marriages from 1916 to 2005 transcribed, which is a good starting point to work your way back.
