It is really tough Hazel on you both but you sound such a loving devoted couple. How lucky for Eric he has got you but I am sure he would do the same for you if it was the other way around. I hope the injection kicks in soon.Distraction is the only other for of pain relief I can think of other than maybe a heat pad or hot water bottle
Hang in there Hopefully there will be light at the end of the tunnel

I've been thinking back and trying to decide who owes most! image Eric had never been ill until 1987 when he had a massive heart attack at the age of 46. When he came home he wasn't allowed to do anything and I used to leave a packed lunch on the coffee table next to him with a flask of coffee. After a few weeks he was allowed to make his own coffee but I still did everything else. It was a good two years before he was back to reasonable fitness. I took ill five years ago and had lots of stomach problems - had a major operation after a year of various tests. We thought the problems were over but even before I was discharged I had severe pains in my shoulder and neck. I was given permission to have our holiday in the USA but had to travel in a wheelchair. During the whole holiday I had to lie completely flat every hour or so, for about fifteen minutes, until the pain subsided. Eric was marvellous and never complained. Nine months after I came home I had another operation to put the problems right - caused by the staples from my initial operation catching on a nerve! image So for about two years he looked after me constantly. Now I'm fit and he's ill so I have to repay him. Somehow I think his problems are going to stretch on for a while but hopefully not so that it's as bad as it is at the minute. He's being well looked after by the various hospitals he attends (thumbs up to the NHS again). I've decided he owes me most so I feel a spend coming on! image Hazel
