I am 64 years old and live just outside Lichfield in Staffordshire. I have been married for nearly 44 years and we have a son and daughter, three grandchildren and one great grandson who is 1. Just as I retired (43 years with the same company) my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers. He was 62 years old. Like most people I have always crafted, doing all the usual crafts and came to card making just after I had retired. Exploring channels on the tv one rainy afternoon I came across a craft programme and thought I could do that and it seemed the right time to take up a new hobby to give me something else to concentrate on and not to be constantly thinking about my husbands cruel disease. So here I am 4 years later addicted to paper, storage boxes and all that glitters making cards for family, friends and friends of friends I have a craft room and love to loose myself (literally) in my room. Some days are difficult when hubby is overly confused but we get by and enjoy the family being around us and though retirement has not been as we had planned we enjoy life.
