Thanks for all the hints and tips ladies. We are just back from a walk and he was much better, still pulling but not as badly. This walk is a bit earlier than his usual but hubby is going to golf and I couldn't take him myself. Maybe he was a bit calmer because he wasn't expecting a walk at this time, maybe varying the time would help. Will buy a Halti tomorrow and give it a try. I spoke to son on the phone this morning and he said they tried a Halti when he was younger but had to give up on it because he hated it and spent half his walk rubbing his face on the ground trying to get it off and he ended up with grazes and scrapes. Maybe as he's a bit older now he would tolerate it better. Really pulling and trying to get to other dogs is his only fault he is great at sitting and staying and waiting until he is told to take his dinner, he lets us go through gates and doors first and sits at kerbs. How I coped taking my lab and golden retriever out together I don't know but I suppose I was a lot younger and stronger then.
