Like Alison I regularly make my own, but I just add a pack of soup vegetables, plus some cubed potatoes to 1pt water and a Knorr chicken stock cube and simmer til the veg is soft. I then add half a pint of milk until heated through and blend it. Really yummy and reduces the fat by not sweating the veg in butter first.
