Oh, Wendy, I know exactly how low people can get!!!! It has almost made me a Misantrope!!!!!

I myself work in a Charity shop here in Sweden. It is a chain of Second Hand charity shops called "The Help of Erik" (a young man who had leukemia and wanted to help children all over the world started this in the 30´s) There are about 50 shops all over Sweden and all have people stealing something or another....
For a while we had so much stealing my headboss was aloud to install security cameras, by the police, in the shop. 5 of them. Some of these thieves even went down to the staff area and stole coats from us working there!

But sometimes, part from stealing valuable stuff, they also steal really, really, silly things....IKEA sell these simple picture frames we call "clip-frames" A bit of cardboard, a bit of glass and 4 metal clips to attach it together. for two weeks someone had very fun stealing all the metal clips from the frames and left the glass and board behind....why not steal the whole thing while they were at itOhwell
I once put two very small frames 5*5 cm large, with historical pictures in them both. When  I went back to work the next day, someone had taken the "PICTURE" from one of them, which was only a flimsy cutout from some magazine!!!! Why bother?????

But the silliest thing of them all, was 1 year after I begun working there. A customer with a crutch had been able to persuade one of the staff the he really, really needed the bathroom. We have one upstairs in the warehouse part of the shop, only for staff. Ok, no one thought more about it, until one of the volunteers went to the bathroom. Did her thing and went to the handbasin to wash her hands and suddenly found herself standing in 1 inch of water around her feet!!! The "poor" person with the crutch had stolen a part of the plumbing tubes to the handbasin, so all the water just swooshed down on the floorRollHow desperate is that?????

So yes, since that, my view of people changed a lot, not to the better I am afraid. I believe that people that shop there forget what the shop is all about, that the money goes to children, that needs a lot of help to develop and bloom in areas of the world where it is very hard to do so!!!!

Thank you for bringing it up Wendy!

Love
Evaxx
