I hope you all had a lovely and peaceful weekend.
We started ours at Lakeside, Aidan wanted to get his hair cut and amazingly his favourite stylist was available right away. I wandered around trying to find a birthday present for my niece who keeps saying she want's a diamond ring - no chance.
After Aidan had been shorn, we had breakfast and then finally found a good present, it was a pretty watch with round crystal beads on the strap, along with a matching bracelet, necklace and earrings. It had been reduced in Samuels from £100 to £50! The assistant then said there was an offer of a necklace (as we had spent £50) which was originally £100 but was a very special offer for just £19.99. I thought it would be something nasty they couldn't get rid of but it was gorgeous and set with little diamonds, so we had that too as that would do for same nieces Christmas present! We also took out insurance as she isn't a dainty little flower
Once home we set about setting up the new rotary drier. being big, the ground spike was huge and took ages to get in the ground. We had bought an new sledge hammer and both of us were having a go - crikey it hurts your muscles! I thought we would never make it but finally it was in and my living room ornament is now drying my washing outside.
So next task was putting up the new bathroom shelves which are on a spring loaded pole. We had one that went rusty so bought a quite expensive one that shouldn't go that way. Trying to put that up, we realised it was a bit too tall and would need a bit of the pole (unseen bit) sawing off - but like the sledge hammer, the hacksaw was round my darling son's so off to B&Q for a new one. Honestly two things took us right into the evening to do!
Sunday I was working at Buttercups and after cleaning up goat poo and doing a bit of goat wrangling to get them all out into the field, I was once again on the hook a duck and lucky dip. I also took some large cards and made about £23, not bad when I was selling them for just £1 each, every penny of which went to Buttercups. When the family day finished it took a while to clean up and get the awnings down, but I took some time for some Joey cuddles and kisses - bless him.
We stopped down the road for a couple of pints of lager which was well needed and then went on to Nando's for dinner as we were both really tired by then - nice end to the weekend
Next weekend party on the Saturday and son home from California on the Sunday. He has texted me to ask what roast we are having for dinner
Roast? not done one of those since Christmas
