...are just plain nasty for no good reason.
I was reading an item on yahoo news about a man who has decided to do without utilities. It stems from being told he'd have to pay £1,000 for a new boiler back in February and deciding he's had enough of continual price hikes. So now he has a water meter and reckons to use 2.5 ltrs a day. He sleeps most of the day in order to make the most of economy7 electricity which is cheaper at nights and boils a kettle to prepare his porridge and noodles.
Now there were quite a few comments about the little he'd saved as it was only about £138 since February and that's not much a week etc......
My comment was (I've copied it in full) -
But what are the long term consequences for his health with a diet that relies on boiling a kettle to make porridge and noodles since these must be over processed in order to make them edible without cooking.
There's penny pinching and then there's miserliness. IMHO
Whilst it got 3 thumbs up it also got 1 thumbs down (I think there must be a few people that go out of their way to do this) and I'm not concerned about that.
But the following reply by A (that's the profile name) did concern me -
"you are bitter and twisted, not to mention catty, and bitchy! "
So I reported this as abuse since it's not even addressing my point just making a personal attack. I would hate this person to think they could carry on doing this - it doesn't particularly bother me (that they are a sad individual those opinion I do not value) but what about some poor soul getting this kind of comment for whom this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, so to speak.
What would you have done?
