Help needed re: Ebay |
Lead | |
|
Some time ago someone posted about one of their Ebay listings having been withdrawn because of Spam regulations (I think). Can somebody let me know who it
was, or point me to the message? The same thing has just happened to my son who is trying to sell his camera, and I would like to know what the outcome was,
and how they achieved it.

Hi Sue
When eBay remove a listing they normally tell you exactly what 'rule' or policy you've breached. Can your son send you the message he's received from eBay? If you can tell us exactly what it says we'll be able to help more :-) Debbie xx |

spam regulations? that sounds odd for a legitimate auction item

Hi Sue, an item usually gets pulled off ebay if it is considered you have used keyword spamming. I was once selling items i had knitted, & the title said,
Outfit to fit 0-3 month baby or 20-22 inch reborn berenguer. Can't use the word berenguer as that is a keyword people will use to find the actual
dolls?????? Mind you it is usually someone who is selling the same item that reports it to ebay. You should be able to relist it without the
"offending" word!!

Sharon Duncan wrote: I may not have got the wording right, as I said I haven't actually seen it, but it seems that they are objecting to the words "As New". I think it may be this keyword spamming thing that Jay mentioned, but I can't see that anyone would use "as new" as a keyword search. Beats me. Sue

Sue, "as new" is not allowed, new, used, new with tags or new without tags, as new to some people may not be as new to others, that's why
it's not allowed to be put on listings.
