Posts: 992 (05/03/2008 14:20:19) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None My friends came for a craft morning and one was saying that her young granddaughter had been saying that the man next door had been pestering her for sometime .Parents who both work took little notice of this. Well last week apparently he followed her last week and the young girl ran home and bolted the door ,he followed but gave up. This last Sunday a card fron this man was pushed though the front door for the lass.She showed it to her parents as the contents were not repeatable.My friend didn't say what was in it but it was enough to send father charging around to the house but luckerly the man wasn't in ,but a man across the road saw the dad racing around and came over ,having been shown the card said he'd help the dad but they both calmed each other down and the police were called and it is now in the hands of the police. They in hindsite do think it odd that there are no girl friends or visitors. So please folk how ever daft things seem do listen to your kids. oldbee Last Edited By: oldbee 05/03/2008 14:23:41. I'm amazed that the guy had the were we all to actually send a written card ??? I was going to say it doesn't make sense but those sorts of people don't make sense. I hope this "man" is dealt with appropriately by the law Gail

It makes my blood boil, that these EVIL people can be living next door to us and we don't know. Thank goodness the Dad did calm down or else he would probably be locked up now! Posts: 8316 (05/03/2008 15:19:59) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Quite a few years back we had trouble with a new neighbour who began to take an unsavoury interest in our youngest lad, it startedoff quite innocently, he seemed as if he wanted to be friendly as he was new to the area, one day he asked my lad what colours he liked,things progressed until he always bought " blue " into the conversation, luckily Iain told me what they'd been talking about & alarm bells started ringing. The police became involved & suddenly the man dissappeared, we were told that people, generally, have no idea that there are men like this living in every street. Parents of young children CANNOT be too cautious. Jan x

It happened to me as a young teenager. A man who sang in the male voice choir with my dad started to get a bit too friendly, wrote letters and even phoned to tell me he 'loved' me, he was in his late forties with 3 grown children. My parents never thought much of it and luckily I was sensible enough to put him in his place, more publicity these days makes us more aware. I know I would not brush it off and take very seriously anything my own children say. Karen.x.

Posts: 159 (05/03/2008 22:00:07) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	l also know of this first hand and it was a friend well so called anyway had tried it on with my 9 year old at time nothing said but he then tried it on with my 7 year old and then the 9 yr old told me l was horribly devastated this was someone we trusted completely around our kids strange thing was he had never tried it with my older 2 girls just the younger 2 he was nearly 40 at the time he went to jail and his family who live near us say it was our kids fault he went to jail he was not like that but then he did confess and plead guilty to save the girls embarrassment but you know they are still traumatised by this even though they are both adults now and they still get sneered at saying it was their fault they both have kids now and are very very protective of them even with their father sorry l shouldn't have poured my heart out but it maddens me so much when it was right in front of us and we didn't know a thing and for a long time we blamed ourseves for this so we need to watch and listen there is signs my older of the 2 shop lifted and we didn't know why until it all came out she was making a cry for help without saying anything just by actions very sorry for this long post

Posts: 6365 (05/03/2008 22:13:46) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Its really terrifying that we don't know who is living next door to us, or down the street etc. My daughter is under pressure from a mum across the road from her to let my little grandson who isn't 5 yet play out with the other children. She refuses to do so, unless she is there to watch over him, this mum thinks my daughter is paranoid. Not only do you not know who some of your neighbours really are, but there is a major river 100 yards from their home. No you can't be too careful today, and thats very sad. Agnes, thats a really sad story, and you have every right to pour your heart out, its still affecting your family even today, a thing like that never leaves you, I don't think so anyway. Sue
