The other half of the family called in this
afternoon - and I gave my youngest granddaughter the pack of Angelina stickers I had bought for her this morning.
I gave her a piece of folded A4 card and she has made her first ever card! (bear in mind that she is only 21 months old). She did it all by herself - (well I peeled them from the sheet and passed them to her when she had chosen which ones she wanted to use) but she did all the sticking. I was told that she was putting the star and the butterflies in the sky! I was so impressed I just had to share it with you.
Do we have another cardmaker in the family?
My DIL then wanted to know how I had got a raised image on some images I had stamped - so off we went to the kitchen and we did some embossing - Bea helping with sticking the stamp on the rockerblock. (Well she recognised the glue stick and it was "stick-stick nanny"). It was then "ooooooo sprinkles Nanny" (embossing powder) and when I heated it up - it was "oh WOW!" as it changed colour (yes a favourite word I gather at the moment ! and DIL was quite impressed too).
Bea was then allowed to use my cheaper water brushes and my twinkling H2Os and she did some painting of the Mackintosh baubles we had stamped - ok least said about that the better - but she loved the shiny effect of the purple and green; and went home clutching her picture as well as the card she made.
This has really made my day today, following my nice morning with Ikklewol - as it also the first time Bea has really said proper words to me and we have been able to have a conversation.
