It looks like a Hibiscus. Most of them are hard to grow in this country because they need the warmth but a few you can grow in patio pots during the summer
and over winter in a greenhouse or somewhere frost free. I'vegot 2 that I've managed to keep alive over winter.

I think it may be an Abutilon, sometimes grown as a climbing plant.

Thanks so much it was a gift a couple of years ago and now only has about 3 leaves and one flower. We have been wondering what to do with it but as we
didn't know what it was (this idiot threw the label out) we couldn't decide how to treat it.
