My friend had her new pass last week (I'm still waiting for mine) but it specifically said it could not be used in Scotland

thats the news for you they never bother to get all of the facts on these things on one bulletin they claimed you could go on coaches. very misleading.

I got mine yesterday and it said it could NOT be used in Wales or Scotland.
You can only use them on local bus routes anywhere in England, and after 9:30 am until 6:30 the following morning and anytime of day on weekends and Bank Holidays. They cant be used on coach trips or National Express, so if you wanted to do a long journey you would have to keep changing buses so you only used the bus in each separate area of the journey. We can use ours on Mersey Ferries as well and the local train service, so they are quite flexible Eli xx |

So much so for a United Kingdom when we are all segregated to using our passes in our own countries.
Dont you get the feeling that the authourites seem to be just as confused as us, they all have different rulings on the so called Country wide pass. I also heard on TV this morning that some areas will have to cut some services to fund the use of the passes.
So who knows we may all have passes to travel around and no buses to use them on

Ahhh but if we fill in forms online we still get the option of UK as our country of residence.
One mixed up place is Great Britian or should that be UK or maybe England Ireland or Scotland and Wales... ohhh boy I have a headache now, better go lie down in a dark room

I can only use mine in Wales, and only on local bus services.Use it quite often if I'm only going shopping for a few items as it saves on the car. Can use
it on the train also but you only have a certain discount but not sure how much as I lost the leaflet that came with it.

Celia - if it's an OAP pass you will automatically get the new one without having to apply. My pass was due in December and when I renewed it I was only
given one until the end of March. Yesterday morning the post delivered my country wide one. Eric received his yesterday as well so our bus company were on the
ball - makes a change.
