I'm considering getting "My Craft Studio", but I remember the trouble you all experienced when you bought it and I wondered if the problems had all been rectified now or not. I know that there are quite a few different volumes of this now and I wondered if it was just the very first one that had caused trouble or are they all the same? If they're a real problem I won't bother, but I think the graphics program part would be really useful. I look forward to you all telling me what you think (careful now ladies as we're before the watershed!!) lol Chrissie xx

I found it couldn't actually do anything that I couldn't already do in Publisher and stopped using it and when I went back to look at it about a month ago it's telling me I need to activate the disk (I already did when I bought it) but won't actually let me do so! Perhaps the newer ones are better but I wouldn't recommend the one I have. J

I have them all and have had NO problems at all. I love them all but yesterdays is my favourite. Love Cynthia x

I have the 4 seasons and another one and they do have some lovely images on them. I prefer to just click and print so I much prefer Joannas cds Claire xx

I have Adobe Photoshop and am aware that I could do more with that if only I could figure out how but with MCS it is so quick and easy so I think it's a winner. Even if you aren't keen on the images which come with the software you can import anything you like

There are still ongoing problems with them and if they could be sorted out they might just be worth the money. Jan x

I don't think I'll get this after all, as I'm not that brilliant with technical programmes and this sounds like it may be a bit advanced for me . I thought it may have been useful for the graphics programme etc. but I think I'll just contine doing all my bits in Greetings Factory . lol Chrissie xx

Posts: 4987 (19/04/2008 15:34:35) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	i have the first one and yet to make a card with it i have to say that the craft room CD and cat walk CD are my 2 worse buys but everyone one is differant there is a lot of trouble still with the craft room cds i read a lot on other forums about it and on one non craft forum that looks in to shopping channels there was a report from the admin that steph is taking a customer to court and its all to do with whats being said about the craft room CD hope this helps

I have had no problems and I have made some beautiful cards with them. I missed the show about the new Oriental cd, was not home from hospital. My sons did record it for me and the darlings then went and checked to see if I had it and when they could not find it they ordered it for me. I was so pleased with them, I could have jumped for joy, but my knee and spine would not let me. I am a very lucky Mum, to have such thoughtful sons. I would recommend these cd's to everyone, they are brilliant. Just take a look a Cynthia's samples and you will see how good they are, her card making is always excellent and of the highest standard. Therefore, if she uses them they must be good. Love, Hilary

It is very easy to use (I haven't mastered other Graphics programmes yet) and you can get good results. I have the fairies one, but I usually use imported images, including backing paper designs from other CD Roms. The good thing with the backing papers is that you can change the colour and intensity to suit any project. Happystamp.

But if your looking for a graphics program then alot of the well known ones are not as expensive as you might think (especially if you get the version one behind the current one out) plus you can buy books like 'and idiots guide to ...' or ' ...... for dummies' or other similar books they basically walk you through the entire graphics program bit by tiny bit so that once you get a hang of it you can decide if you need to work your way through the entire book (which will cover absolutely every single aspect) or stop where your happy, they really do start at the very very begining and assume you know absolutely nothing. The books are available for alot of graphics programs at places like amazon/whsmiths/waterstones etc , they really are helpful and will talk very simply to you, definately worth the £10 -£20 plus they often have a light humerous touch too.

The website that is meant to support My Craft Studio has apparently been delayed as Ideal World and Stephanie Weightman are in some sort of legal wrangle over the software. I understand some persons have even reported the software to the Advertising Standards Agency. It is a budget program but it has failed to deliver on some of the basic promises made in the tv demos. I felt I could not waste any more time on it. I appreciate any software can have minor problems on release and also that end users very often differ in their abilities to use software. But this cd was demoed as easy to use and 'by crafters for crafters'. Unfortunately this turned out to be far from true for some purchasers many of whom like myself have simply given up on trying to get a working copy of the software they purchased and walked away.Feeling that Stephanie has somehow betrayed our pact that crafters look out for other crafters. I love Stephanie on tv so it really goes hard with me to have to say that. I also think that having had such wonderful customer service from Joanna and Glenda it comes as an even bigger shock to ones sense of fair play when this sort of thing goes on. It could be such a wonderful cd - I just wish IW would get it sorted and acknowledge it needs redoing. I don't think Joanna's forum is the place to discuss this as she does not sell the software. There are other forums elswhere which are trying to highlight the problems and get some customer satisfaction on this.
