Posts: 5457 Apr 25 08 9:16 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I have got a small rockablock which came yesterday in a surprise goodie bag which I bought with my points from the crafters companion website. I was really pleased as when I saw them demo'd I thought they looked great but i've had a go with it and can't seem to get a decent image. I think it may be due to having my stamps on EZmount. Has anyone else found problems with this? thanks Claire xx Ps the goodie bag was fab, loads of stuff in it from sakura pens, glitter, decoupage, rubber stamps and all sorts in it - a lovely surprise and well worth the points

They said on the show the rockablock works with stamps mounted on ez mount, but it doesnt make sense to me, surely the ez mount will make the stamp sit higher than the rockers? By the way out of intrest how would you remove the ez mount if you wanted to use the rock a block with the stick and spray?? Clair

Posts: 4248 Apr 26 08 1:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	You can have a go at removing the ez mount by microwaving your rubber stamps for a few seconds, to soften the backing. I usually put it in on high for about 10 seconds and then try it. If it is still stuck, try for a further 10 seconds - better then cooking you rubber stamp by heating it for to long. Hope this helps - it certainly worked for me. If you have any clear stamps - don't try this, although they shouldn't really have been in ez mount any way. personally though I would try the rock-a-block with one stamp first, rather than take all your stamps off the ez mount - some people have found they prefer the ez mount. I've had another look at the rockablock and I think you are right, the stamps are too high on the EZmount for the rockers to work properly. I must admit I think the EZmount is great and produces brilliant results so I wouldn't take my stamps off, it'd take till Christmas lol. Claire xx

Posts: 24711 Apr 26 08 10:29 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have used them put them away - but thought no must have another go - so played with them yesterday and didn`t get the 100% clear image every time that I was after - today got another inkpad as I thought it might be that but no it wasn`t - I find it hard to get the pressure in the middle of the stamp as I found I had better results if I didn`t press so hard but then I wasn`t getting it 100% right So ezmount in my view gives that deep crisp stamped image I like - still can`t say I haven`t tried Suzanne

Posts: 1423 Apr 28 08 11:20 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	rockablocks can take a bit of getting used to, even their own demonstrators were allegedly getting a few dodgy results at the trade show. I've had a curve decor stamping block for years, huge beastie but the principle is the same so havent had any problems with rockablocks & ezmounted stamps. That said I prefer a flat block for tilda sized stamps but you get a really good result using a curved block and large detailed stamps.

Posts: 6357 Jun 20 08 8:59 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I thought they were a great idea when I first saw them demoed, but decided they were not for me as I have all my stamps on EZmount and love using them that way. If you haven't mounted all your stamps, rockablocks are possibly worth trying. What I really need is a handle to stick on the back of the acrylic block to make the middle sized ones easier to handle. Small ones are easy to hold and the very big ones I put the card on the stamp and use a roller. Jan

Posts: 3 Aug 27 08 7:23 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Sara was demo'ing the rock-a-blocks on C&C yesterday and she suggested if your stamps are mounted on EZmount or similar, that you place the rock-a-block and stamp straight down so the centre of the stamp touches the card then rock forward then back. Haven't tried it yet so don't know how well it works.

I always use the larger one as sometimes the ink gets onto the edges of the smaller rocker. Helen

Posts: 2329 Sep 25 08 10:44 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have read some blogs where they say they are great for clear stamps. It is awfully easy to press too hard with clear stamps so your image isn't sharp but the rocka blocks give just the right pressure. I must have a try. Alison
