Floristry Class week 13 |

Nothing too fancy this week, we had to make buttonholes. These are the 3 that I attempted to make. A red carnation with some fancy wiring , a pink rose with a
diamanti jewel and ribbon, and two yellow-green orchids with fancy dangly beading. Back to table top displays next week - Amanda

Well done Amanda - did you enjoy doing them? - I know corsages were one of my favourites.
We made all the corsages for Dawnywol's wedding, and a couple of years ago the florist forgot to make the corsages for my pal down the road daughter's wedding. My pal yelled for me in a panic, at florist's suggestion as she knew I lived up the road - pal sent hubby to buy some flowers, and I stood for an hour and made a whole load for her, whilst the florist (who is also a friend of ours) went back and made some herself. Pat, the florist, when she came back said she knew where to come if she had a panic again. My reply was don't call me I'll call you - as it was really working under pressure - we were wiring Lisianthus - absolute nightmare! fortunately mine turned out looking almost identical to the florists! Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I found these a little on the fiddly side this week so the jury's still out on whether I like making them or not.
The fun part of the lesson was listening to all the terrible language that was coming out of the women who'd asked Liz to show us how to make them |
