Thrifty crafters... |

I know we are all thrifty when it comes to our crafting goodies, so I was just wondering if any of you carry the "not waste a thing" from crafting
into the kitchen. Do you save all the left-overs to re-use the next day. Do you put things in containers in the fridge "to do something with later"
then forget about them. Do you have things turning green at the back of the fridge, because you didn't throw it away. Do you have a loft full of boxes with
stuff in that might "come in useful" Or is it just me!

Well Coralie I do have containers of left overs in the fridge - but I do use them, but as for the loft - least said the better! It is not as bad as it was as Dawnywol went up and had a clear out last year (taking some of her stuff with her). empty boxes that belonged to stuff that had past their year's warranty were thrown, etc.
and please don't look in the cupboard in the spare room - photos by the boxfull - all my parents ones, my MIL's ones and loads of ours pre digital
photograph. Also pre digital my brother's, father's and our old cinefilms and projectors - one of these days I shall get a programme to convert them
to DVD! (or maybe the kids will when they inherit them!) oo forgot about the garage - all those odd screws, washers, odd bits of wood that might come in handy! |

Not many leftovers in this house - Will the stafford is very good at clearing them up! I do tend to do peculiar things with my meals - as I am the only
vegetarian in the house, if I have some veg curry left over I will add it to the next day's veg bolognaise - I get some quite interesting tastes that way!
Any bolognaise/curry still left I eat with baked beans the next day.
I have a couple of drawers full of odds and ends - very odd some of them - that 'might come in useful'. It drives Peter mad

Those bowls full of green 'leftovers' at the back of the 'frige are very important scientific experiments

I keep all sorts of "things" and have a very cluttered house and attic space - but am not very good about not wasting leftovers of food - get bored
and throw it away sometimes .....

know what you mean about the loft Mags ours is a complete mess, not as full since daughter moved out but still plenty of soft toys, many many lego castles that
belong to eldest son which will no doubt be joined sooner or later by the harry potter lego and bionicles that my youngest son still has in his room

I'm a wasteful
as I no longer keep little bits of stuff that might
come in handy in my craft cupboard - it was taking over and I never used it! As for the kitchen - what's that???????????

I'm not a hoarder really although I have the usual bits & bobs in the loft that I will never get rid of. Whoever ends up with the job of sorting it all
out eventually will wonder why on earth I kept some of it! Mind, today's rubbish could be tomorrow's work of art so who knows!
I do hang onto little bits that might come in useful for cards but not that much else I will never remember what I've got and will end up buying stuff anyway! C xx |

Sad person that I am, cannot bear to part with anything that might be useful. Have however drawn the line at keeping stuff for family members at their
request.......I need the room for my own clutter!
Used to have fun making new dishes with leftovers, Still do when it comes to grocery shopping time which I detest. As long as it's meant to be green and not sprouting hairs it's ok. Floppy hairy carrots and jars of pesto developing grey wigs are not that rare in my fridge. Yes, I save buttons from clothes too worn to take to charity shops and cannot stop myself when it comes to saving packaging materials for crafting. Eunicex |
