Hi what do most people use to gloss their decoupage with I sometimes use diamond glace and sometimes a small file of decoupage varnish which you can't
get everywhere. What would happen if I used clear varnish that you use on wood.???? has any body tried it.. Help needed please. Pansy

YOu can buy proper decoupage varnish from craft stores. However the diamond glaze and the glossy accents (on the website) work very well

hi pansy, i use stuff called 3Dlac, it's a 50ml bottle i got from my local craft shop, it'll last ages too.
i think most craft shops will stock something similar, so for me it's not worth spoiling an image using something i'm not sure what the result would be, n as i haven't tried clear wood varnish i cant really say as i've not tried it. HTH, chell x |

Pansy,
I used to use conventional decoupage varnish which came from the States. It gave BRILLIANT results but can be quite toxic if exposed to it for too long. You can use 'Poster and Water Colour Varnish' from most good art shops. I do not find it gives me QUITE the depth the previous one did but I have been told it is less harmful. Apply carefully and try not to brush it out. A soft tapered cat's tongue brush gives very good results. Hope this helps. Best wishes Sonia
