Empty the Fridge Soup |

Ok - just inventing a new veggie soup - looking in the fridge I have so many oddments - one courgette - one pepper a leek, some sticks of celery and a parsnip
and a potato etc - nothing matches and all too small to use as a veg for our main meal - so I am making up a batch of soup - added a few herbs and bits and
stock and we'll see how it comes out ... I usually limit the number of veg but we have got a real hotch potch here so we'll see how it ends up

That's a regular favourite in our house too, I usually throw in some lentils as well. By the way, Joanna, I bought a bottle of the Princesses Rules nail
varnish you were wearing on telly, it is really pretty, even on my nails.

It's a staple in this house too - if the flavour's not great liquidise it and add a teaspoon of curry paste (if you are curry fans!)

It sounds delicious. My DH is a 'soup-maker' extradordinaire. He'll make himself a pot for supper at the drop of a hat. I must mention this
vegetable medley - he'll be off to try it.
So I don't cook - I craft instead. |

In our house its called Bitsa Soup and everyone loves it, when the children were small they used to ask why it was called Bitsa Soup . Of the answer was
because it was made up of bits of this and bits of that, they thought it was hilarious, and now my grandchildren love Bitsa Soup too. Hugs Rita xxx

blender! That's the nearest i will ever get to the rcipe bet i cant repeat it but ummm highly recommended!

lovely, Joanna. But did you have it hot or cool? Whenever I have made something as delicious
the next time it is always "oh what have I missed out" The best recipes are in your hands not in a recipe book. Jen |

That's sounds lovely Joanna. doesn't a dash of lemon make a difference - quite often put a splash in casseroles etc.
We call it 1001 soup here. Sometimes I make 1001 pie too! I throw everything in - the left-over tinned tomatoes, baked beans, etc etc. then a dash of this and that - tomato sauce, brown sauce, worcester sauce, pepper sauce, lemon juice, mustard, spices and various peppers etc even a tsp sugar! (as the mood takes me) and if I think it needs something else to bulk it out in way of veggies - I raid the freezer! Plenty of teaspoons handy to keep tasting. OH is chief taster if I think it needs something added. Mags |
