i just have to tell you all that i've had an absolutely fabulous day, i went to London Zoo, with hubby and my soon to be 21year old son, (he'll be 21 tomorrow).
hubby and me wanted to treat him,soo we asked him where he'd like to go.....and he said London Zoo! sooo.......off we went.
I would recommend it to anyone, it's certainly improved with the prices of drinks, food etc. but, i think if you've a young family it's still cheaper to take your own, but, it wasn't crowded at all, the sun was shining, but not too hot, and there was plenty to see, whether old or young, i think my highlight was "The Butterfly Paradise" from the outside it's a huge blown-up Caterpillar! and looks a bit jokey, but, oh!my! when you go inside the Butterflies were everywhere, flying freely, the size and colours were magical, i didn't waqnt to leave, lol, but, it's soo humid in there you can't bear it for too long. I wasn't dissapointed at all, i had been in a Butterfly house many years ago, i think it was in Great Yarmouth, and that was brilliant, with different Butterflies..........if heaven is full of these Butterflies, i'm looking forward to it,lol.
I thought that the entrance fee was a bit steep, but when you get there, it's just lovely, lots of picnic areas, nice walks, plenty of chairs and toilets, and best of all the animals are in much better areas, not ideal, but, we don't live in an ideal world, and London Zoo is more about Conservation, than just keeping the animals for the sake of it.
sorry to waffle on,lol, just had to share

. I love visiting Chester Zoo, again the
animals are kept in enclosures as near as possible to their natural habitat and the zoo is working hard for conservation. They don't have a butterfly
house though - I would love that. My 22 year old son wants to visit the zoo with his girlfriend this Saturday as he loves the elephants
