My daughter in laws father died this morning, he had been very poorly for a long time but went downhill very quickly the last week. We have always been good friends and they live very close to us. Have spent the day helping with whatever I could help with. My grandaughter who is 9 has spent the day at home with my son - she was very upset and has got her grandad's slippers that he keeps at their house and has put them in her bedroom. That upset me when I heard that. She did get to see her grandad yesterday so we were pleased about that. Thanks for listening. Pam x

I have my mum's slippers in my wardrobe, they are scruffy and have holes in them but I can instantly picture her pottering around the house when I look at them.
