.....mum's psychiatrist came today and she was so well behaved all day until after he left!!!! I have been trying on and off for over 2 hours to get her
to bed and will she go?????? NO!!!!!! I wouldn't mind but I am feeling so tired myself and obviously I can't go to bed until she does. It looks like
another all nighter.
Oh well, I'll keep thinking of september - cruise, cruise, relaxation, SLEEP!!!!! San x |

Oh Sandra, you must be exhausted, why don't these people turn up when all the bad things are happening?
You really deserve that cruise, just a shame it's not sooner. Hope you are able to get some sleep tonight. Jan x |

You have the patience of a saint San, one in a million. I understand from other friends in a similar situation that their relatives often behave like that in
front of anyone assessing them etc, the stress must be enormous. I'm so pleased for you that you have your wonderful holiday booked

Oh Sandra - I do feel for you. Think you will have to resort to secret video filiming of her to prove your point.
I was chatting to somebody today who has a similar problem, when social services come to assess her mum - she says can manage without any help etc when she can't! she was saying that if she was a child she would sit her on the naughty step and leave her there for a couple of hours or longer! Mags |

Oh, Sandra, I really know how you feel. My mom isn't with us any longer, but she had Alzheimers/dementia towards the end and one day the psychiatrist
came to see her and he asked her questions like: what day it was, her date of birth, what year, etc., and she got every single one right and like your mom, was
on her best behaviour, until after he had gone!! He said to us that she didn't seem so bad and we tried to get across to him what she was normally like.
We were tearing our hair out. She didn't live with us, but my poor dad was at the end of his tether. We said at the time, why is it they are always
coherent when the psychiatrist is there? But surely, if they are a good phychiatrist they should know this. I hope you were able to get some sleep last
night.

I feel so sorry for you Sandra, it always happens that way, the person being assessed behaves perfectly.

Mags took the words right out of my mouth, secret filming could be the answer.
I only hope you managed to get some sleep, your positive attitude seems to be whats keeping you going and the cruise, not long now, although it must be feeling like a lifetime away at the moment. Keep strong, take care. Carol x |
