Have you come across........................... |

Bookcrossing traveling books, the other week when we were out walking, I saw this book sitting on a wall with a label on it saying please pick me up and dont
throw me away I am a travelling book, inside was a bookcrossing label with the web address on and a number, so I took the book home and looked up the web site
put in the books number and it came up wih details of the books travels across the country this one had come from Prestatyn, it listed all the places it had
been left and comments by its various readers and finders, so I read the book it was a funny novel registered its details and left it somewhere for some-one to
take it on its journey well I had forgotten all about it, today I have come across another traveling book with a bookcrossing sticker on has any-one else found
any.

Now I've heard of this before somewhere Dawn - can;t for the life of me remember when - might have been on an earlier forum - hate my mind sometimes when I
can;t remember things! It sounds an excellent way to recycle books - guess we're too rural for anyone to risk leaving a book ---

What a fab idea, but no I've never come across one. Presumably you can start your own, but would need to register it on the website to take part in that
side of things? Could you PM me the website Dawn? Thanks

What a brilliant idea
I love books and I panic if I haven't got one to read

just been looking at the website, what a lovely idea. Going to join up and see what happens and where my book ends up. Just having a think about where to
leave it, prob in one of the coffee shops up the High Street in Town I reckon or the local country park. Good time of the year as loads of holiday makers
around so no telling where it will end up.

I came across Bookcrossing a couple of years ago when I found a labelled book in the waiting room at the chiropractor. I have to admit that I've been lax
about it: I registered a couple of books which I still haven't left anywhere. I did 'release' two books but they have never been reported as found.
You need to pick your place carefully, beacause in some places (eg trains) they will just be swept up as rubbish by cleaners. Coffee shops and charity shops
seem to be good places.
You can find a list on the website where books have been left so can search for your local town. The address is www.bookcrossing.com |

What an interesting thread, and what a lovely, different idea, I have never heard of anything like this before, so if you don't mind, I've kept the
address. Thanks for sharing that Dawn.
