Following on from the last post about my new foiling machine and the poor results I was achieving, I took Joanna's advice and contacted the company that sold me the machine. I emailed them and within the hour Alan was on the phone to me and we had a long chat about laser printers. As I suspected, my fairly new colour laser was not suited to hot foiling as some machines have a high level of silicone in the toner to make the print glossy. But foil does not stick to silicone.
Sadly I have passed this printer to hubby who will use it for his cad drawings and I have splashed out on a Brother mono laser printer. Just printed out some text and ran it through the hot foiler and it has come out absolutely perfect. I am so chuffed. I have some very special samples to do this week and need to be able to do a lot of foiling - So I am one happy bunny...... lol
Top marks to PatsyMay and Alan - they are a great company to deal with.
