We are looking after son and new daughter in laws labrador while they are on honeymoon. He is two years old and a great dog, very friendly and happy. Unfortunately the minute his lead goes on he pulls and pulls and no matter what we try he wont stop. We let him off his lead to have a run to get rid of any pent up energy but he wouldn't back to us and just kept chasing and playing with other dogs. Yesterday, hubby took him for a walk and he slipped his collar and wouldnt come back so another man held him under the armpits until hubby could get to him. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop him pulling as I cant take the lead for long because he pulls me off my feet and hubby struggles too and he is not a small man. I owned a labrador years ago and he pulled a bit but I dont remember it being so bad. Hubby did remind me that we are about 30 years older now and probably not as fit and strong as we used to be. My Bonnie was a Westie so not a problem to control her and she always wanted to please but Murphy is another story!!! Any suggestions from the many dog lovers here would be gratefully received.
