J.ust thought i would let everyone know how Samuel is.We had a bit of a hicup on Christmas day,his tube started to leak so they had to change it.Very uncomfertable for him as they don;t like sedating him too much as it affects his breathing. All sorted now though and if the fluid has reduced right down tomorrow , they will remove the tube alltogether in hope that any more fluid will be absorbed naturally.Nicky has had to stop feeding him herself as he has been put on a special milk, he has taken a while to adjust to it, and at first it was making him very sick but the last few feeds have stayed down, they have also been giving him vitamin supplements as he has lost quite a lot of weight, fingers crossed with the new food and vitamins he will start to gain weight now. They are keen to stop the tube feeds asap, so they have let Nicky give him some water in a bottle so at least she gets to hold him and have a cuddle, the first time she held him was so wonderful, she didn't want to hand him back.
There will be a meeting tomorrow with the consultant and they should also have the final blood test results to confirm what type of hydrops he has.If they are right and it is what they think then they can start planning his future treatment,
i will let people know the out come asap
Happy new year everyone
hugs to all
