We decided to go to Whipsnade zoo today and it was a balmy 4 degrees when we left, so I didn;t wear my snow boots (no snow here) or even a scarf. Got to whipsnade and it was like the frozen wastes! We couldn't drive round as usual as the roads were bad, most of the animals were sensible and stayed in their houses and the shows were cancelled. We saw the otters from afar, they were fenced in as their water was just thick ice, lemars were kept in - we did see the meerkats through the window and the red panda was outside eating bamboo so had a great look at him. At one point Aidan went back to the car (no mean feat in that snow) to get the camera and I felt like I was the only person in the world as it was so quite, no one but me and the red panda to be seen - and cold - blimey I lost all feeling in my feet
Despite the things we had to overcome like three foot snow drifts lol we did have a nice time and have some nice snowy pictures
