Today I was trying to loosen a screw on my security light (unsuccessfully) and was muttering 'rightie tightie, leftie loosie' , as a way to remember which way tightened and which way loosened the screw ( I also do it on my tap connected to the hose).
Then, later, going down my 3 back steps, that are soon to be made into a ramp, thank goodness, I was saying to myself -Good foot to heaven, bad foot to hell', to remember which leg to put on the steps first (good leg going up, bad one coming down).
That got me thinking what other 'aides-de-memoire' we use. The only one I could think of was the reef knot/bow instruction,' left over right, then right over left'.
Do other Sheenies have any sayings they use to remember things? I'd love some more to help me into my dotage (or dotty-age as I used to pronounce it when seeing it in books as a child)!!!!!
