Posts: 5752 Sep 3 11 8:19 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thoroughly recommend this printer, I'm getting excellent results. 1. Prints no problem on 300gsm. 2. Prints on vellum and acetate 3. Top loader 4. Superb for printing photos - I'm a keen photographer with a digital SLR 5. Yes, it takes compatibles 6. Can't download directly from camera 7. I'm using Windows 7 with it 8. It works great with CISS 9. Will also print directly onto cds\dvds 10. Uses 6 separate ink cartridges 11. Will work with either 32bit or 64bit O/S 12. Posts: 20050 Sep 3 11 8:20 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Can 100% recommend the Epson Stylus Photo 50 with CISS - the inks are cheap and last an age and then some - so far it has printed on every medium I've thrown at it and it does borderless printing although you have to lie to it so it thinks it has one of the types of photo paper for that to work. One against is that it doesn't print A5 borderless no matter what type of paper you tell it that it's got to print on. Someone else who has this printer may know a way to do this? C xx Just seen Jacqui's FAQs....... 1. will it print on thick card...or...maximum weight you've tried - 300gsm no problems 2.Will it print on acetate and// or vellum? - yup 3.Is it a top loader or flatbed? - top 4.Is it good for printing photos? - brilliant 5. does it take compatible inks? recommendations of sellers would be an advantage if tried and tested. - I have a CISS 6.Does it have a connection to download photos from a camera? - Don't fink so - download (or is it upload?) from my camera to my pooter and click print from there 7.Is it compatible with the latest window programmes? - Yes 8. Does it work with a CISS system - Yes 9. Does it do borderless printing? - Yes (sometimes have to tell it porkies re the type of paper you are using though 10. How many ink cartridges does the model take - CISS has 6 bottles outside the printer and 6 little ink holders inside (which all connect) 11. will it print directly onto DVDs and CDS ..................................didn't even know they could! Acetate and vellum? You have to persuade it to go through with a backing paper taped to it. 3.Top loader 4. prints photos ? Yes. On photo or best photo, 5. Always use compats 6. connection for photos....Yes. 7.windows... ??? don't really know...thicko here. 8. Ciss ? Don't know ... compats are cheap enough and not enough room, they might spill ? 9. borderless ? Sometimes. 10. 6 inks 11. It says it does but again...thick I dont know how to .....

Now if I tell you that apart from the black one, I've not touched any of them yet and I've had the printer over a year now, you'll get an idea of how cheap this thing is. I only had to getthe black one 'cos OH printed out some HUGE computer language manuals...... I certainly won't have to buy ink again for several years........ C xx

Top loader 4. Yes 5. i have CISS and it's compat ink i'm using in it, Foto-rite from CityInk Express 6. Yes, can also print them off without PC 7. Yes - we're using windows 7 X64 and now we're using Win8 8. Been using CISS now for about 6 months, easy to fit and very easy to use, can refill it at the touch of a button or 2. 9. Yes 10. 4 11. Not sure 12. Yes 13. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition up to Windows 7 (32bit, 64bit) & mac OS X *1 - 10.4.11 or later. and now Win8 hope this helps, chell x added: have now fitted a CISS and it runs lovely, there's a video on u-tube available and they send you a step by step with piccy's the inks are 100ml bottles and work out about £20 a set. Do not buy it.....unless you WANT a bottom loading machine... won't take anything even resembling card weight......says its out of paper.....it's not.....!!! It moans and grumbles as it tries to grab the paper , then it grabs two....so you get half and half of a picture........I am so sick of this printer,,,,, But we bought it from COMET And because I use compatable inks there is no way I could send it back to Epsom, the weight of it would far outway the price of a new one...........................Be warned..... although it probably is my fault in a way......I didn't realise it was a bottom loader till we got it home Duh.... Need to shop for a new one .....without the Hubby with me saying "well which one do you want they all look the same to me?" Jen. x

Posts: 39 Feb 8 13 12:05 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	well I got this 2 days ago and so far so good. prints fine, quickly and quietly! has 3 paper trays?!?! 2 bottom loading ones and one top feed - for speciality paper ie card etc. have not tried it yet but as it is specifically for card should be ok, fingers crossed the bottom feeds work ok so far, one tray is for A4 and one for A5. but the PRINT SIDE SHOULD BE INSERTED FACE DOWN!! oh and a special insert thingy for printing on cd/dvds, interesting but I cant see it getting much use. Its smaller than my sx400, which is nice because I can now fit my cameo next to it and my Hard drive too has a flatbed scanner/photocopier is wifi - which is really handy has claria ink ?!!??! is ciss compatable city ink has it on their website but is out of stock at the mo so am waiting for them to get some. has a multi card reader for sd msduo and cf cards so can print without PC works with windows 8 6 cartridges 1. will it print on thick card? - tba 2.Will it print on acetate and// or vellum? - tba 3.Is it a top loader or flatbed? 3/4 feeds see above 4.Is it good for printing photos? - brilliant 5. does it take compatible inks? - tba 6.Does it have a connection to download photos from a camera? - yes 7.Is it compatible with the latest window programmes? - Yes 8.
