What's the worst place you've lived?
A few years ago we moved to a house that had been really abused by the then owners. It was in a beautiful area & in a locality that we'd wanted to move to for ages but was out of our price range.
The house looked pretty normal from outside, but the price was VERY low so we had a look to see what the catch was
Inside was like a bomb site, but didn't really matter because we intended to 'do it up'
The kitchen ceiling was half down because the bathroom had flooded.
The cupboards had no fronts on & no shelves.
The built in oven didn't work & anyway couldn't be used because it was buried in muck & fat
Our plumber condemned the gas boiler as soon as he saw it, & the day after we moved in had all the floors up to fit radiators.
We only had two internal doors in the whole house, that was on the downstairs loo & one bedroom upstairs.
Both toilets were leaking, & the day we moved in I was on my hands & knees with a hammer & chisel trying to remove the limescale (&worse) of 30yrs.
The bath had a big hole in it, so couldn't be used, & when Matthew helped me to remove what was left of the tiles, the wall seperating the bathroom from the middle bedroom fell down!
Iain HATED his bedroom coz it was painted black, walls & ceiling!! He said he was gonna report us to Childline if we made him sleep in it

No carpet anywhere............that was a blessing really
& no wardrobes either, they'd been demolished long ago
The whole house had to be gutted
I could go on & on, but you'd only be bored
it was worse than any one of those Kim & Aggie places
& I cried myself to sleep the first night
It was all worth it in the end, but no way could I do it again
So, can anyone beat that?
